KUALA LUMPUR, JUNE 12 -- Malaysian Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC), Port Klang Free Zone and SM International Wholesale (China) Centre (SMITC) planed to set up an international Muslin trade and information center in Kuala Lumpur to serve Chinese enterprises Tuesday.
The three organizations made the decision during a symposium sponsored by HDC. They would launch the international Muslin trade and information center in the international trade and halal industrial center garden in the Free Zone by the end of June.
The center will include halal brands information and certification, halal assurance system, halal courses, international halal trade promotion, e-commerce, storage and Logistics, halal laboratory, halal park, halal policy reward institution, Chairman of SMITC Xia Baowen said to Xinhua.
This center’s establishment symbolizes the multinational cooperation among Malaysia's halal industry development, Port Klang Free Zone and SMITC for certification of halal products.
He said this center will help Chinese halal enterprises understand certification process better, get halal certification in Malaysia faster, and help halal products enter the global market.
The international Muslin trade and information center will bring new chances and energies to the development of Port Klang Free Zone halal industry under the government support.
With the joint efforts of all sides, the international trade and halal industrial center garden become the regional logistics center.
Malaysian halal industry development department is under Malaysian trade and industry department. It is the halal industry promotion and censorship in Malaysia.
