Chinese pandas to predict World Cup outcomes (Photo/ Beijing Daily Group)
According to the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center, China’s national treasure, its giant pandas, will predict the outcome of matches in this year’s Brazil World Cup.
Baby pandas of one or two years old will predict results of important matches starting from the group games. Experts and stars will also participate in the activity.
The prediction method is still under discussion. Options include letting the pandas choose foods with national flags, or letting them climb trees with national flags.
Though everyone knows that giant pandas are our national treasure, the work that protects the treasure is less widely known. Nearly 80 percent of the volunteers in the Giant Panda Protection and Research Center are foreigners. The activity is intended to facilitate understanding of the protection work of giant pandas.
Paul the octopus from Germany became the most popular animal star of the 2010 World Cup by successfully predicting the results of many matches. How will the Chinese pandas perform?
