Six Specialized Gardens
The China '99 Kunming International Horticultural Exposition, has six specialized gardens, namely, tree garden, medicinal herb garden, potted- landscape garden, bamboo garden, tea garden, and vegetable and fruit garden.

Herb
Garden The Medicinal Herb Garden covers 8,700 square meters. It is a rich collection of plant resources that are of traditional, ornamental and medicinal values. Among them are more than 30 rare herb species, including ginseng, Fortune Plumyew, and Eucommia. |

Bamboo Garden The Bamboo Garden covers 8,700 square meters. Built on a hillside by a river, the Bamboo Garden features all varieties of bamboo, adorned with typical bamboo dwellings of the Dai ethnic group who live in the southern part of Yunnan. |

Tea Garden The history of the Chinese tea culture and tea-making techniques is shown in the Tea Garden, which covers 17,000 square meters. Set against a large expanse of tea plantation, there is a group of sketchy structure with a rich flavor of tea culture. A tea-house has been set aside for demonstrating how tea is made and served. |

Potted-Landscape
Garden The Potted-Landscape Garden covers 5,880 square meters. On display are the traditional Chinese art of miniature landscaping of different schools. Stone materials are used for the structures and floor of the garden to demonstrate the harmony between man and nature. |

Tree Garden The Tree Garden gathers over 300 species in about 80 families, many of them the Magnolia ones or rare and endangered plants. |

Vegetable and Fruit
Garden The Vegetable and Fruit Garden covers 5,880 square meters. It is mainly devoted to new varieties of vegetables and fruits that are of strong artistic appeal. The theme of the garden is "vegetables and fruits are important food sources on which mankind depends for survival." |
