Business Liaoning's Foreign Trade Resumes Growth

Recent statistics show that northeast China's Liaoning Province resumed growth of foreign trade in 1999, with its total trade volume hitting 15.6 billion US dollars.

According to the figures offered by the Dalian Customs, the total foreign trade volume increased by 2.6 percent last year. Its total export value rose 0.3 percent in a year-on-year basis to 9 billion US dollars, while its import value surged 5.9 percent to hit 6.56 billion US dollars.

The province's foreign trade surplus was 2.48 billion US dollars in 1999, and the export of finished industrial products kept increasing to 6.1 billion US dollars, up 3.1 percent over 1998.
