Sci-Tech Second Chinese High-Tech Fair Slated for October

Second Chinese high-tech fair is scheduled to be held in Shenzhen City of south China's Guangdong Province from October 11-17, Mayor Li Zibin announced in Guangzhou January 28.

The mayor said this year's high-tech fair will be even larger in scale than the first one that was held also in Shenzhen in October last year. The first Chinese high-tech fair was concluded with the volume of business deals climbing to 6.5 billion US dollars.

The high-tech fair is an annual event held at the joint sponsorship of five organizations, including the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the State Science and Technology Commission and Shenzhen City.

Preparations for the second high-tech fair are well under way, said Mayor Li, added that workers are now expanding a 20,000-sq-m main exhibition hall so that when the high-tech fair is convened, the total area of the halls for business negotiations and commodity display will exceed 60,000 sq m.
