World Musharraf Calls for Making Full Use of China's Aid

Pakistan's Chief Executive General Pervaiz Musharraf January 20 called upon all ministries of his government to expeditiously identify new projects in the field of economic cooperation to make use of the generous Chinese offer for assistance.

Musharraf said so when briefing the cabinet about his recent visit to Beijing.

"China has offered to provide all possible support to the development of Pakistan's industries and commerce and also specifically joint ventures in the whole range of fields," Musharraf's Advisor on Information Javed Jabbar told a press briefing here quoting the chief executive.

While expressing his "deep appreciation" of the government and the leadership of China for the "exceptionally warm, courteous and detailed attention and hospitality" afforded to him during his recent visit, General Musharraf stressed the need to fully utilize the assistance available under the "friendly and generous" support of the government of China.

During his two-day visit to China on January 17-18, General Musharraf met with Chinese President Jiang Zemin, Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee Li Peng and Premier Zhu Rongji.
