Business RMB to Remain Stable in 2000: Dai

The exchange rate of Chinese yuan will remain stable in 2000 thanks to expectable favorable balance of international payments, Dai Xianglong, governor of the People's Bank of China, or the central bank, said at a press conference in Beijng on January 20.

By the end of 1999, China's foreign exchange reserve reached 154.7 billion US dollars, increasing by 9.7 billion US dollars over the beginning of the year,.
