Business Intensified Management of Power Industry Yields Benefits

The market-oriented Guizhou Provincial Power Company has achieved remarkable results through intensified management. By the end of last year, the installed generating capacity of Guizhou's power grids had amounted to 5.135 million kw, up by 2.58 million kw over 1993, with the annual increase rate reaching 12 percent. This achievement has enabled Guizhou to transfer electricity to Sichuan, Hunan and Yunnan provinces and given great impetus to its own economic development.

Pictured here is a view of the Grade-4 Maotiaohe Power Plant with an installed generating capacity of 2,000 kw. The Maotiaohe is one of the Chinese rivers which are the first to complete tapping the water resources of the whole river.
