Key State Enterprises Urged to Use IT
The State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) and the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) will jointly promote a project to help enterprises get to grips with information technology.
The project, named "Enterprise Computerization Project", will be initiated on January 26, said China Daily.
"It is a key stone of our work this year," said Zhang Huisheng, director of the computerization promotion department of the MII.
The project will help companies realize the need for and importance of computerization and grant them better access to information technology, said the newspaper.
Companies will be encouraged to improve their management and enhance their competitiveness through more active application of information technology.
While the government provides policy support and direction, companies are free to choose products that are suitable for them.
A platform for companies to carry on e-business will also be set up. The network will buy materials, carry out marketing and organize technological exchanges and personnel training.
The 520 key enterprises of the State will be the first beneficiaries of the project. (China Daily)
