Education CAS Students Receive Scholarships

Approximately 800 postgraduate students and some of their tutors received scholarships from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and enterprises on January.

Li Xiangdong, a Ph.D candidate from the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the CAS and another 19 students were granted the prestigious CAS President's Scholarships, and 150 students received the second-level CAS President's Scholarships.

Meanwhile, more than 600 postgraduates and some of their tutors won scholarships established by entrepreneurs and enterprises.

The CAS has been involved in training scientific personnel for more than 40 years, and has produced a large group of outstanding young scientists.

To date, it has enrolled more than 31,300 students for master's degrees and over 12,700 students for doctorate degrees. It now has a total of 11,000 postgraduate students.
