China China's Agricultural Sector to Improve

China will improve its agricultural services, basic production conditions and environmental protection in 2000, said the Chinese Minister of Agriculture, Chen Yaobang on January 6.

At the National Agricultural Work Conference which closed heretoday, Chen pointed out that changes in the agricultural sector will greatly improve agriculture production and lower production costs, and will thus increase the income of Chinese farmers.

To attract more funds in the agriculture sector, China will encourage investments from public and private sources as well as foreign investment and technology.
