Education SFLS Celebrates 20th Anniversary in Beijing

The Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press (SFLE) marked its 20th birthday in Beijing over the weekend, inviting experts of foreign languages in Beijing to the celebration.

The SFLE, a publishing house affiliated with Shanghai International Studies University, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, is under the administration of the Education Ministry.

Over the past 20 years, the Press has edited and published more than 2,000 kinds of books in 12 languages, including textbooks for various levels. Over 200 have received prizes for excellence from municipal and higher authorities. The Press has thus established itself as an authority on foreign languages teaching.

The Press also attaches importance to academic research and overseas exchanges. It has established links and cooperative relations with dozens of leading publishers across the world, which led to the publication or licensing of nearly 100 types of books.

The Press President and Editor-in-chief briefed at the gathering the press's achievements and detailed its blueprint for the next century.
