Culture Audio Tours for Overseas Visitors to Guilin

Overseas visitors to Guilin, a famous tourist destination in south China, now will be able to gain a better understanding of what they see with the help of a special audio system, which provides information about the city in eight languages.

With this system put in use, tourists from anywhere on the globe can learn the history of this city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and stories about its surrounding beautiful landscapes, unique rock formations, and limpid water in the clean and beautiful Lijiang River, according to a local tourism official.

Guilin, a scenic city founded more than 2,000 years ago, receives millions of tourists both at home and from overseas every year.

In an effort to provides foreign tourists with a better knowledge of scenic sites in the locality, the city and the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics have jointly developed a high-tech tourism network to provide tourists automatic interpretation systems when they take a boat excursion on the river.

Today, even without the accompaniment of tour guides, the system will provide easy access to overseas visitors who travel to the city and enable them to enjoy the city, the official added.
