China Gifts From Inland And Hong Kong Arrive in Macao

Thirty-two curiosities arrived in Macao on December 11 as special gifts from the inland 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, as well as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to mark Macao's return to China on December 20, 1999.

The gift bestowed by the Guangxi Autonomous Region is a picture made of 73,800 granules of precious stones, weighing 280 kg.

Most of the presents are made of rare species of materials like gold, silver, jade, crystal, and diamond, all reflecting unity, jubilance, and prosperity.

Earlier this month, the gifts were shipped to Zhuhai city adjacent to Macao.
