China Chinese Given Day off on December 20

The Chinese people will have a day off on December 20, 1999 to mark China's resumption of exercise of sovereignty over Macao.

In an unprecedented notice issued by the General Office of the State Council, Chinese citizens across the country will have a day off on December 20 to allow the public to celebrate the return of Macao to the motherland.
