World Chinese Premier Begins His Vietnam Tour

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji arrived in Ho Chi Minh City Wednesday for a four-day official visit to Vietnam.

During his stay in Hanoi, he will meet General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Le Kha Phieu, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and Chairman of the National Assembly Nong Duc Manh.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city and an important economic and trade center, Zhu will visit Binh Tien Footwear Limited Company and Linh Trung Export-Processing Zone.

He was greeted by Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Khuan and Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Viet Thanh upon his arrival at the airport.

Zhu's entourage includes his wife Lao An, Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan, Agriculture Minister Chen Yaobang and Special Assistant Liu Huaqiu.

Vietnam is the last leg of Zhu's four-nation visit to Southeast Asia which has brought him to Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. (Xinhua)
