China Earthquake Hits Southwest China Province

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted Anxian County in the city of Mianyang, in southwest China's Sichuan Province, at 4:24 p.m. (Beijing time) on November 30.

According to the China Seismological Bureau, the epicenter was located at 31.4 degrees north latitude and 104.4 east longitude.

Preliminary reports said that the provincial capital Chengdu also felt the quake. No casualties or housing damage have yet been reported.
