Business Development Zones in Zhejiang Grow

The five economic and technological development zones along the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo expressway are attracting more foreign investment.

Statistics show that the zones in the cities of Hangzhou, Ningbo, Xiaoshan, Shaoxing and Jiaxing in east China's Zhejiang Province obtained nearly 400 million US dollars in foreign investment in the first three quarters this year, up 15 percent on a yearly basis.

Ten of the new foreign-funded projects each involve more than ten million US dollars of investment.

Local authorities say that Zhejiang will further improve the basic facilities and investment environment in these zones.

For example, the Xiaoshan development zone has invested 15 million yuan to plant trees and grow grass so far this year.
