Sci-Tech New Oilfield Yields Annual Crude Oil Output of 1 Million tons

It is reported that Changqing Petroleum Exploration Bureau, an affiliate of the China Oil Group, has found another new oilfield with a 300 million tons of proven reserve in northern Shaanxi. The bureau completed the new Jingan oilfield, with an annual output of 1 million tons, in only three years and blazed a new trail for the development of the nation's low infiltration oilfields.

According to a news report, about 4 billion tons of low infiltration verified onshore oil deposit have not as yet been put into use. Whether or not it is possible to start the exploitation of low infiltration oil deposit is crucial to a sustained, stable and increased production of China's onshore oil in the next century. Despite the adverse natural environment and the complicated external conditions of the Jingan Oilfield, the bureau has used three major advanced, applicable technological series in the exploitation of low infiltration oilfields. This effort has greatly accelerated the development of the Jingan Oilfield. The annual output of crude oil of this oilfield is expected to exceed 1 million tons.
