Culture Guilin Has More Centenarians

Guilin, one of China's most famous tourist attractions in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is home to 94 centenarians, a local aging population organization said.

Of these 94, 73 are females, and most of them live in the countryside. The oldest is Pang Damei who is 112 years old this year. She belongs to the Yao ethnic group from Heshun Village in

Yongfu County.

Lingui County and Lipu County produce a number of centenarians. Both Lingui and Lipu have 17 centenarians.

Economic progress, improved medical care as well as improvement in the environment are major factors behind the increase in the city's total number of centenarians.

Guilin is renowned for its green mountains, clear water and strangely-shaped stone formations.
