Sports A Big Fancy for Chinese Sports Fans

Three young Chinese sports fans will be given the opportunity to provide live commentary at the world's greatest sporting event, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Coca-Cola China Ltd is joining forces with China Central TV and six provincial TV networks to sponsor the Coca-Cola Cup Year 2000 National Sports Commentators Selection. The selection will take place in six Chinese cities between February and April next year. More than 10,000 people are expected to join the contest.

The three winners will do commentary on three sports popular in China - soccer, volleyball and table tennis. The commentary competition follows a similar Coca-Cola sport contest earlier this year.

The contest is open to lively and articulate men and women aged 25 to 35 years. They must be native Putonghua speakers and have a good grasp of English as well as a sound knowledge and love of the Olympics and one of the three sports.
