Business Tibet's Largest Shopping Center Opens

The largest modern shopping center in the Tibet Autonomous Region has opened for business.

The shopping center with a construction space of 12,000 square meters is built on the site of the former Tibetan Department Store, which was first built in 1965.

The expansion project of the 34-year state-owned department store cost a total investment of 53 million yuan (6.4 million US dollars).

The new shopping center is expected to handle approximately 20, 000 kinds of commodities in 15 categories and provide a good shopping environment for consumers.
