Sci-Tech Chinese Doctor Creates New Drug Rehabilitation Device

A Chinese doctor has successfully developed an electromagnetic device which has been proven effective in narcotic drug rehabilitation.

The Electromagnetic Drug Rehabilitation Device, created by Wu Qingmin from Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, has already been patented and received an official production license.

Integrating traditional Chinese medicine with electronics, the machine consists of an electromagnetic treating device and a computerized controller.

The electromagnetic treating device is designed to be attached to the drug addict's ears which will stimulate acupoints with electromagnetic waves and help reduce the graving to take drugs. Clinical tests indicate that therapy generally becomes effective on an addict within 72 hours.

Experts said that the new physiotherapy might help reduce a drug addict's dependence on other medicines after the treatment, a side effect repeatedly resulting from medicinal therapies.
