Business Light Industry Slows Down Slightly

China's light industry has slightly slowed down its development pace, with total industrial value for the first nine month this year at 2 trillion yuan, still up 11.6 percent from the corresponding period last year.

The country's heavy industry saw a 12.8 percent growth in industrial value during the same period, sources from the Information Center under the State Administration of Light Industry said.

Analysts note that the current development pace is quite normal, and the slight slow-down can be attributed to the high standard set in the corresponding period last year, when light industry output boomed.

At the same time, the export of light industry products continued to rise, reaching 41.5 billion US dollars in the January-September period. In September alone, light industry exports hit 5.6 billion US dollars, the highest monthly figure record so far this year.

The top five products with the highest export revenue were range hoods, air conditioners, soft drinks, canned food, and home refrigerators. (Xinhua)
