Thursday, November 18, 1999, updated at 09:56(GMT+8) China Chinese FM Confers with Pakistani Special Envoy Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan held talks with Pakistani Special Envoy Sahabzada Yakub Khan in Beijing on Nobember 17, with both sides expressing satisfaction with the growth of Sino-Pakistani relations. During the talks, they discussed bilateral ties and international and regional issues of common concern, according to sources from the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Tang and Khan agreed that the smooth development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the past decades is due to the fact that both countries strictly adhere to the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, and do not interfere in each other's internal affairs. Friendly relations between China and Pakistan are not only in the common interest of their countries and peoples, but also conducive to the regional and world peace, stability and development, they added. Both sides said that they are confident the two countries will bring into the 21st century a comprehensive and friendly cooperative partnership which features sustainable development and is full of vitality. The Pakistani special envoy arrived here at noon today following visiting France, the United States, and Japan.
