Business China's Largest Electric Tool Center Shaping up in Jiangsu

China's largest electric tool industrial center is shaping up in Qidong, a coastal city in east China's Jiangsu Province.

Located in Tifen Township, the center includes 100 factories manufacturing 150 varieties of electric tools and 1,200 types of parts and fittings.

The annual sales volume of the factories reaches an average of six billion yuan (723 million US dollars). With 3,600 marketing centers and 20,000 sales men nationwide, the factories have developed 62 famous-brand products which occupy more than 50 percent of the country's electric tool market.

So far, 10,000 people, or one-fourth of the town's total population, work in the tool industry. (Xinhua)
