Education China's First Ecological Educational Center

China has just established its first ecological educational center to disseminate knowledge about environmental protection.

Based on the Guniujiang Nature Reserve in Shitai County in east China's Anhui Province, the Center features, among other things, a specimen exhibition hall and an audio-visual data bank.

All rare trees on the nature reserve are clearly identified for the general public.

The 6,700-hectare nature reserve was set up in 1988 with the approval of China's State Council. A recent survey reveals that it has 271 species of vertebrates (including leopards and sika deer) and more than 2,000 species of plants. (Xinhua)
