Culture Long-Life Village in North China

At the foot of Mount Motian, 60 kilometers northwest of Wu'an in north China's Hebei province, everyone lives to be 85 or older.

Aihaoping Village has another mystery: Everyone dies of natural causes. No cases of serious illness have been reported.

The long-life village has more than 30 households with more than 130 people.

Villagers attribute their longevity to breathing fresh mountain air, eating chemical-free food, and drinking especially high- quality spring water.

Near the village are three spring-water natural wells, from which about 260 cubic meters of cool water flows all day long, despite the season of the year, drought or floods.

The wells are fringed by more than 1,600 hectares of primitive forest, where in excess of 200 varieties of wild medicinal herbs and plants grow.
