World Bolivian, Argentine Officers Condemn Spanish Judge

Bolivian Army Chief Gonzalo Arredondo and Argentine Chief of the Joint Staff Carlos Maria Zabala condemned Spanish judge Baltazar Garzon meddling in South American issues on November 11.

Arredondo described Garzon's behavior as an act of "judicial colonialism" and Zabala as "absurd", according to reports reaching here from Bolivian capital city of La Paz.

"We cannot accept that a judge from a country which was a colonizer of America continue intruding in our activities, every country is sovereign", said the Bolivian military leader.

Both military men held a consultation meeting in La Paz previous to the 13th Conference of American Armies which will be carried out on Nov.15 - 19 in La Paz.

Spanish judge Baltazar Garzon intends to judge former Chilean military leader Augusto Pinochet for crimes against humanity and requested besides the extradition of 98 Argentine army men for the same motive.

Bolivian and Argentine officers discarded the Conference of American Armies will prove any statement concerning the Spanish judge.
