Sci-Tech High-Tech Development Fair Opens

A national high-tech Fair opened on November 11 in Chongqing of Sichuan Province in southwest China.

The four-day event is sponsored by the Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chongqing municipal government. Twenty-eight delegations from colleges, research institutes, high-tech enterprises from around the country are exhibiting 2,000 high-tech products and offering 5,000 trade projects during the fair.

The fair involves industries of electronic information, bio-engineering, medicine, modern agriculture and energy conservation, and environmental protection.

A series of exhibitions on high-tech products and seminars on high-tech developments are also scheduled to be held here during the fair.

According to municipal officials, eleven contracts on high-tech achievements were signed on November 11 totaling 300 million yuan of trade. (Xinhua)
