Wednesday, November 10, 1999, updated at 15:16(GMT+8) China Nine Media to Auction Advertising Pages of January 1, 2000 On the afternoon of November 30, a special auction will be held in the Kunlun Hotel of Beijing. Things to be auctioned are neither antiquities, painting and calligraphy, nor jewelry and porcelain, but rather are advertising pages of nine authoritative media. The auction, engineered and organized by China Jiade International Auction Co. Ltd., invites the People's Daily, Overseas Edition of the People's Daily, China Daily, China Securities, Financial Times, China Industrial and Commercial Times, Beijing Evening News, Wen Hui Pao and Macao Daily. These nine media entrust this company with auctioning part of their advertising pages of January 1, 2000, the first day of the new millennium. Reports say this is the first ever in the journalist and auctioning history that several authoritative media jointly sell their advertising pages by auction. An official from the Jiade, as the first nationwide auction company in China's mainland, expresses his confidence in meeting the challenge and trying hard to achieve the best result. The auction will be conducted in the form of public sale at increased price. The nine media will provide 20-odd whole pages for auction. Various types of domestic and overseas legal enterprises and organizations whose production and operation activities come within the laws of China's mainland, and Hong Kong and Macao Special Administration Regions (SAR) can participate in the bidding.
