China Visit to China Successful: Hungarian FM

Hungarian Foreign Minister Martonyi Janos said on November 7 that his visit to China is "very successful", calling it an important step forward in the development of the relations between the two countries.

In an interview with Xinhua when he arrived at the airport, Martonyi said that he and Chinese leaders exchanged views in practical talks and during his trip to Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing, he witnessed all the changes that China was undertaking.

The two countries should strengthen cooperation in various fields such as diplomacy, economy and trade, culture, science and technology, said the Hungarian foreign minister.

He added that Hungarian entrepreneurs are expected to invest more in China to have an access to the big market, in automobile, pharmaceutics and food industry in particular.

The bilateral trade is expected to reach 1 billion US dollars in several years, the minister noted.

Since both countries are switching to market economy, legal experts will work together to review the signed bilateral documents and make modification when necessary and a political declaration is being drafted to frame the basic principle of the relations between the two countries, Martonyi said.

Martonyi returned Sunday from a trip to Japan, India, Thailand and China.
