Business More China-Made Parts Used in Citroen-Fukang Cars

More and more China-made components and accessories are being used in the production of Citroen-Fukang cars made by the Dongfeng Citroen Automobile Co. Ltd., a Sino-French joint venture.

Now, fully 80 percent of the parts in these cars are manufactured in China,, according to sources at the company's auto parts and accessories suppliers meeting in this east China city of Fuzhou, capital of Fujian Province.

Dongfeng Citroen Automobile Co. Ltd. was formed by the China Dongfeng Automobile Company in Shiyan in central China's Hubei Province and Citroen in 1992 and has become one of China's leading car producers.

China Dongfeng Automobile Company produces all kinds of trucks, auto components and accessories, and is also a designated car maker receiving major state financial support.

It has so far turned out 2.2 million automobiles, generated an aggregate industrial output value of 110.8 billion yuan, and paid seven billion yuan in taxes to the state since it was founded in 1969. (Xinhua)
