Business Siemens Increasing Presence In China

Germany's Siemens will have a larger number of products manufactured in China and will increase its technology transfers to China in the years to come, according to a company executive.

Siemens wants to become an inseparable part of the Chinese economy, Siemens' Vice-President Gunter Wilhelm said in Shanghai recently.

He said that China is one of the most attractive investment areas in the world and has provided a wide range of opportunities for investors and Siemens' presence in Shanghai dates back to 1872 when it sent the first telegraph to China.

The company has more than 50 businesses and 22 representative offices in China engaged in energy, telecommunications, transportation, and other areas.

Last year they had 4 billion Deutschemarks worth of sales. (Xinhua)
