Clean Management Vital to SOE Reform: Senior Official

Clean management is vital to the reform of China's state-owned enterprises (SOE), said Wei Jianxing, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee for Discipline Inspection, during an inspection of east China's Shandong Province.

He said to the SOE reform is an issue concerning both politics and the economy, and strengthening Party building and enhancing clean management in SOEs is an important condition to promote the reform. The key to success lies in improving self-discipline in the leadership of SOEs, he stressed.

Any abuse of public funds or transfer of state assets to individuals will be severely punished, he added.

Wei said that the principles of clean management should be applied to the daily management of SOEs and should be scrutinized by employees.

China adopted the Decision on Major Issues Concerning the Reform and Development of State-Owned Enterprises at the 4th Plenum of the 15th CPC Central Committee on September 22. (Xinhua)
