China to Promote Growth of Medium-sized, Small Enterprises
����China will adopt measures to promote the development of medium-sized and small enterprises, an official from the State Economic and Trade Commission said in Beijing October 28.
����Di Na, deputy director of the commission's department of medium- sized and small enterprises made the remark at the ongoing Sino- French symposium on China's State-owned enterprises and agriculture.
����She said the measures will encourage enterprise re-structuring and technological innovation, offer fiscal and financial support, and create a market environment for fair competition.
����At present, the registered medium-sized and small enterprises account for 99 percent of China's total, and their gross industrial output value is 60 percent of the total.
����They have also created 75 percent of China's urban employment, an important element for ensuring social stability.
����According to Di Na, China now is drafting a law to encourage these enterprises to take part in international competition and cooperation in the future. (Xinhua)
