China to Promote Growth of Medium-sized, Small Enterprises
China will adopt measures to promote the development of medium-sized and small enterprises, an official from the State Economic and Trade Commission said in Beijing October 28.
Di Na, deputy director of the commission's department of medium- sized and small enterprises made the remark at the ongoing Sino- French symposium on China's State-owned enterprises and agriculture.
She said the measures will encourage enterprise re-structuring and technological innovation, offer fiscal and financial support, and create a market environment for fair competition.
At present, the registered medium-sized and small enterprises account for 99 percent of China's total, and their gross industrial output value is 60 percent of the total.
They have also created 75 percent of China's urban employment, an important element for ensuring social stability.
According to Di Na, China now is drafting a law to encourage these enterprises to take part in international competition and cooperation in the future. (Xinhua)
