All 34 Hostages Freed from Myanmar Embassy
All the 34 hostages taken by Myanmar gunmen have been
freed from the Myanmar embassy here on Saturday afternoon, a policeman confirmed.
Some of the 12 gunmen have already taken a helicopter
for the Ratchaburi province, more than 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok, where a
Myanmar refugee camp is located.
A policeman told Xinhua that Thai Deputy Foreign
Minister Sukumbhand Paribatra accompanied the gunmen to the refugee center and is on his
way back to Bangkok.
The remaining gunmen are waiting to take another
helicopter at a military school. (Xinhua) =10020819
