NPC Chairman Meets Famous Chinese-American 　　Li Peng, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, met with famous Chinese-American and President of the US Committee for International Cooperation Anna Chan Chennault, in Beijing on September 29. 　　Li welcomed Chan on her visit at this historic time of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. 　　He spoke highly of her consistent efforts in improving relations across the Taiwan Straits and promoting education in China.
