Party School Opens Computer-aided Distance Learning

Arming itself with the latest technology to educate its cadres, the Communist Party of China (CPC) recently completed a computer-aided network that links the Party School in Beijing with five local Party schools.

The five schools are in Shandong, Hainan and Sichuan provinces and the municipalities of Chongqing and Shanghai.

The Party School and the local Party schools will be able to share their teaching resources as well as "campus news" via the computer-aided distance learning program.

Hu Jintao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and president of the Party School, attended the opening ceremony for the launching of the computerized network on Wednesday. He said he hopes the network will be a model for Party schools throughout the country. (Xinhua)
