Man Who Killed Taiwanese Woman Given Death Sentence

����Yang Rongsong, of northeast China's Liaoning Province, was given the death sentence by the Intermediate People's Court of the city of Anshan and deprived of political rights and fined 15,000 yuan for homicide, robbery, and kidnapping.

����Yang and three accomplices were found guilty of illegally holding and robbing Wei Tein-kang, a Taiwan businessman, and of killing his girlfriend Lin Ti-chuan.

����Yang, who was jobless, got the three accomplices, Huang Shidong, Zhang Shifeng, and Zhao Chuang, to kidnap the two people last July and handcuffed them and put tape over their mouths, before injecting them with heroin and torturing them to get money.

����The two victims were illegally held for more than 30 hours and robbed of 11,900 yuan worth of cash and property. Lin Ti-chuan later died of a heroin overdose.

����Huang was found guilty of homicide and kidnapping and given a sentence of life in prison and deprived of political rights for life. Zhao was found guilty of the same crimes and was given a sentence of 16 years and deprived of political rights for five years. Zhang was also sentenced to 15 years and deprived of political rights for three years for the same crimes.
