China Hopes Ties with PNG Back to Normal 　　China Thursday reiterated its hope that the Papua New Guinean (PNG) new government, from the overall perspective, correct its predecessor's erroneous decision of establishing "diplomatic ties" with Taiwan. 　　Only by so doing, can the relations between China and Papua New Guinea be brought back onto the normal track, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue told a regular press conference in Beijing Thursday afternoon. 　　China had made solemn representations to and lodged a strong protest against the former Papua New Guinean government over its signing of the so-called communique on the establishment of " diplomatic ties" with Taiwan.
