Yunnan Minorities Teach Their Own Languages

The Jingbo, Miao, Dai, Hani minorities in Southwest China's Yunna Province can give lessons to pupils in their own languages. The revised text books of Jingbo, Miao, Dai, Hani languages will be published respectively as soon as possible.

Yunnan attaches great importance to spreading the "bilingual education" and compiling textbooks in minorities languages, which are important to implement ethnic equity policy and promote unity of all ethnic groups.

There are 25 ethnic groups live in Yunnan, and some of them have their own language and specific characters. At present, these minorities have textbooks, reference books and out-of-class reading materials compiled in their own languages.
