Lee Teng-hui's Separatist Remarks Refuted 　　Members of Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League Central Committee and All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots met this morning in Beijing for a symposium on cross-Straits relations. In refuting the separatist remarks made recently by Lee Teng-hui, they said that Lee's remarks reveal his true separatist feature in undermining China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity and that for he acts against the common will of the Chinese people including Taiwan compatriots he is doomed to failure. 　　Zhang Kehui, vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee and chairman of Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, pointed out that there is only one China in the world, Taiwan is part of China and that none can change this fact. Pinpointing Lee's separatist malice he angrily said that Lee's intention is to separate Taiwan from China and make the Taiwan problem an international issue. But there is no one who can negate the one-China policy as the foundation of the cross-straits relations between China and its Taiwan Province, he reiterated. 　　Yang Guoqing, permanent member of the NPC Standing Committee and chairman of All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, castigated Lee Teng-hui for his separatist remarks and his open challenge to the one-China policy. By his separatist redefinition of the cross-straits relations he is putting the fate of Taiwan people at stake. But a final reunification of China is unavoidable, the Chinese people will never lose their determination to guard China's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Lee Teng-hui should stop his separatist activities immediately and go back to the "one China" principle, he demanded.
