On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles ( CFLAC), a celebration was held early in the Great Hall of the People by a gathering of several generations of artists to talk about the past and look forward to the future.
CFLAC has achieved a lot since it was set up in July of 1949, the year when the new China was founded, and more masterpieces have emerged especially after the reform and opening up of China to the outside world, according to Gao Zhanxiang, its vice president.
CFLAC has been dedicated, together with overseas Chinese artists, to promoting Chinese culture and has helped in promoting international cultural exchanges and its international reputation is increasing, he said.
The Chinese nation needs more masterpieces and CFLAC will help build a healthy environment to boost Chinese culture, he said.
