Chinese Artists Celebrate 50th Anniversary of Artists Federation
Chinese artists Sunday evening celebrated the 50th anniversary of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles in the China Theater.
Their performance featured classical artworks produced since 1949 when the People's Republic of China was founded. It combined films, songs, paintings, and ballet to provide a panoramic view of artistic achievements over the past five decades.
The federation, which was formerly called the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, was set up in July 1949. It is a gathering of Chinese writers, dramatists, film people, musicians, painters, dancers, and ballad singers and comprises the China Society for the Study of Folk Literature and Art and the Chinese Photographic Society. It has branches in all provinces, cities, and autonomous regions.
