Pyongyang Severs Contacts with South Korea

A spokesman for the Committee for Peaceful Reunification of Fatherland of DPRK announced on June 16 that it is severing contacts with South Korea for the time being in the wake of an exchange of fire in a disputed area in the Yellow Sea early June 15.

Meanwhile, a military source of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on June 15 accused South Korea of sending eleven warships into its territorial waters.

The source said that seven warships of South Korea on June 16 morning intruded into the DPRK's territorial waters off the Kangryong County, south Kwanghae Province, at around 08:00 local time and they were joined later by four more ships at around 08:30 local time.(Xinhua)
