A Forum to Mark 75th Anniversary of Military Academy
The Huangpu (Whampoa) Military Academy Alumni Association hosted a forum in Beijing on June 16 to mark the 75th anniversary of the Huangpu Military Academy. Alumni or their kinsfolk from Taiwan, Hong Kong and overseas attended the meeting. He Luli, vice-chairwoman of the NPC Standing Committee, and Zhang Kehui, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, were also present at the forum.
When addressing the forum, Zhang Tinhan, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Communist Party of China jointly established the Huangpu (Whampoa) Military Academy 75 years ago. The academy had made monumental contribution to the Northern Expedition and the Anti-Japanese War.
He urged the alumni of the academy to make further efforts for the peaceful reunification of the motherland.
