Excerpts of this article by Our Commentator follow: 　　Consistently carrying out rectification side by side with correction has been regarded as an important guideline by various regions and departments, which has run through the whole process of the "three-emphasis" (emphasizing theoretical study, political awareness and healthy trends) education, correcting immediately what can be corrected. This has not only enabled cadres and the masses at large to really feel the changes and progress brought about by said education, but has laid a foundation for concentrated rectification and correction. 　　At present, work units of the first group that started the "three-emphasis" education have entered or will enter the stage of conducting conscientious rectification and correction and consolidating achievements. The overwhelming majority of leading bodies and leading cadres have paid high attention to and are doing solid work for rectification and correction, however, a small number of comrades have shown the mood of slacking off, and their views about rectification and correction are extremely harmful. 　　In the current "three-emphasis" education, rectification and correction play a very important role. They both run through the whole process and represent a special stage. It should be fully understood that the aim of deepening the "three-stresses" education, fundamentally speaking, is to improve the overall quality of the leading bodies and raise the ideological and political level of leading cadres, solve the existing outstanding problems in regard to Party spirit and Party style of work, promote implementation of the essence of the Party's 15th National Congress, guarantee application of the Party's line, principles and policies and important decisions of the CPC Central Committee and do a better job in the ongoing reform, opening and modernization drive. 　　The most important and fundamental point in rectification and correction is ideological rectification and correction and raising of level. Each leading body and leading cadre must devote adequate energy and great effort to doing a good job in ideological summation and rectification and correction, ensuring that there is a striking rise in ideological level, a marked political progress, an obvious change in the style of work and an evident enhancement in discipline. A good job done in ideological summary and in rectification and correction will provide a solid, reliable guarantee for the formulation and application of measures and systems for rectification and correction. 　　The formulation of plans and measures for rectification and correction is an important link in the work of the stage of rectification and correction, so this work must be personally grasped by the leading bodies and leading cadres, and the plan they have worked out for this purpose must be practical and to the satisfaction of the masses. 　　In light of the problems found and presented, formulating and perfecting a scientific system for rectification and correction is an important task for the stage of concentrated rectification and correction.
