Chinese Premier Meets Bulgarian Foreign Minister
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nadezhda Mikhailova Wednesday afternoon.
Zhu said that friendship between China and Bulgaria goes back a long way and that during the past five decades since the two countries established diplomatic ties bilateral relations have enjoyed a steady growth.
Zhu said that China appreciates Bulgaria's adherence to the " one China" policy and added that the two countries have broad prospects for their cooperation in the economic and trade field.
"On the basis of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, the Chinese government is willing to make concerted efforts with Bulgaria in a bid to carry Sino-Bulgarian relations into the 21st century, " he said.
Mikhailova conveyed a letter from Bulgarian Prime Minister Ivan Kostov to Zhu, in which Kostov invited Zhu to visit Bulgaria.
